Wizards Lose Heartbreaker at Home

BISMARCK, N.D. December 22, 2008: The Dakota Wizards ended a four game winning streak tonight at the Bismarck Civic Center falling to Los Angeles by four 100-96.

A game, in which the Wizards held the lead for majority of, was down to the wire as LA down 11 went on a 13 to two run to start the fourth quarter and to tie it at 86 all. The Wizards didn’t help their cause shooting just a bit over 18 percent in the fourth.

“What can I say we fell short,” said Wizards head coach Duane Ticknor. “I am happy with the way we took care of the ball, but we have to shoot better down the stretch. Guys were tired but they battled, just bounced the wrong way tonight.”

Los Angeles, now 3-7 on the season were lead in scoring off the bench by Joe Crawford with 21 points, while guards Darren Cooper and Brandon Heath both finished the victory with 18 a piece .

The Wizards, now 5-6 on the season were led by veteran guard Maurice Baker with 23 points and five assists. Forward Renaldo Major nailed 19 points while forward Will Frisby flirted with a double double finishing the loss with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
